The Communication Debate
The Piksi Multi has the capabilities to transfer data through USB, controller area network (CAN) bus, or Ethernet connections. CAN bus is the standard communication for vehicles, and in order to interface with something like the MoTeC available on the 2020 Electric MUR car (as well as past iterations), it is essential.
However, as Autonomous 2020 is working on a separate testbed and interfacing with a Jetson Xavier, perhaps USB is the more preferable option. Ethernet connections are another format becoming more common in the automotive industry, and as some of our other devices are already using it and the MoTeC is compatible with this form of connection, could this also be a likely option?
